A shared vision for my organization (example)
An organization can refer to your home, work, church, civic organization, etc.)
Visions are images in the mind – impressions and representations (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). Visions are about the strong desire to achieve something great (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). My shared vision is to change my place of work. Change it to employ better team leaders. Most team leaders we currently have are in the wrong positions. Our team leaders have not had any training in leadership which is why they are ineffective in certain situations. Although, team leaders who have been leaders for a while eventually do become good leaders. But for the ineffective team leaders or leaders who have just started in their leadership roles would need leadership training. My vision for our team leaders to become more effective is for the leaders to respect their employees more, understand the type of work that is done instead of just making assumptions, and listen. If I was a leader of the team leaders I would need to communicate this vision to them in some way. Leaders communicate a vision of the future to constituents, leaders need to talk about how they’re going to make a difference in the world, how they’re going to have a positive impact on people and events (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). After communicating the vision I would come up with a plan to make a change for the better.
