A: I was thinking of the media committee when I was filling out the team leader questionnaire. My media team received all 3ís and 4ís except for one question which is question 13. Question 13 says our team leader is willing to confront and resolve issues associated with inadequate performance by team members. It seems like in our media group that consists of about 15 people we have three leaders. The leaders share leadership depending on the subject that is talked about. The leaders do not seem to manage performance as much because the media team not only handles media issues at my work but it is also a group where we have a good time. Other than managing performance our media team does good in other areas. Effective team leaders are committed to the teamís goals and give members autonomy to unleash their talents when possible (Northouse, 2012). At our meetings we are very open to new ideas in how to implement media in the organization. Another area my team is great in is having a collaborative climate. Research demonstrates that effective team leaders ensure a collaborative climate by making communication safe, demanding and rewarding collaborative behavior, guiding the teamís problem-solving efforts, and managing their own control needs (Northouse, 2012).
From the Psychodynamic Approach Survey my results were I, N, F, and J. I stands for introvert, N stands for intuitor, F stands for Feeler, and J stands for Judger. The psychodynamic approach is used to encourage leaders and followers to become aware of their own personality types and those of the people with whom they work in order to better understand their own behavior and the responses they get from others (Northouse, 2012). I think that the answers to the survey are about 90 percent correct. Someone who has INFJ is supposed to have creative values while their appearance is inventive, idealistic, and insightful. I always have a hard time to make a decision, this is true for intorverts as they are hesitant and slow to decide. I agree that I am an intuitor because I am a strategic thinker. I may be somewhat of a feeler because I am changeable and indecisive. I think that I am somewhat of a judger because I can be rigid and inflexible but sometimes I am flexible, depending on what the issue is. The differences between the types can lead to frustration and perhaps antagonism (Northouse, 2012).
